Prior to buying this I rode around jokingly on friends knee scooters with small wheels. I was instantly scared as they were sketchy and unstable. That's not the case with this scooter. When I took it into my podiatrist's office, it got a TON of comments about how nice it was, even by the Nurse!Being 6' 280lbs, I wanted something solid that I could roll around on and keep my mobility. This fits the bill.Highlights:1) The big tires are great for any surface. I've taken it through the house, gravel, grass, etc. no issues.2) Knee comfort. The pad works well. When it's hot, it will get sweaty, but my knee kept a good grip.3) Stability. Don't get me wrong, if you turn too fast in the direction with no foot, you can fall over. If you try something dumb, you can fall over. (I never put the training wheel on.)4) The basket is amazing, and very needed.5) Great over the top packaging.6) Easy to assemble with the included tools.7) Changing the tubes was easy with a set of bike tire levers.Lowlights:1) The valves on the wheels are not angled enough to get most air pumps on too. I ended up switching the tubes to a Specalized 60deg 12" tube and it's worked great. (THIS IS MY BIGGEST GRIPE)2) The Brakes are good, but I feel my rear wheel is out of round just a touch leading to a pulsating of the brakes. I've adjusted quite a bit, and they're still.... good.3) The grips tend to rotate, so you have to move them back occasionally. I thought about changing the grips but they aren't that bad.4) If you need to put the training wheel on or take the rear tire off, the nut was TIGHT. You will need tools.5) You will need a small head air pump to air the tires, and to occasionally top them off. (All bike tires lose air.)All in all I really like this scooter. I'd give it a 4.75 if I could based solely on the difficult to fill tubes.Other impressions based on other reviews/comments:1) The turning radius is big, I tend to just pick up the front end or whole scooter as needed.2) PRACTICE before you need it. There is a learning curve to understand your stability.3) The tires will scuff your floor if you slide it around.4) You will run over your toes if you go backwards.5) I lowered the knee pad to it's lowest position for greater stability.6) You will use muscles you've never used before. Don't just think you can go out and ride if for miles right out of the box.All in all, this is a great knee scooter. Highly reccomended.
